The initiation idea of establishing the Academy of Karary Technology as a higher military foundation is to focus in preparing engineering cadre and technology to bridge the gap of the increasing needs of the Arm Forces to cope with an increasing evolution of the military tools and equipment’s.  A Presidential decision of the republican No (266) for 1994 dated 18th of August 1994, to be established, it was authenticated by the National Council 1996

The University of Karary exploits its military nature to be distinguished compare with other institutions through the studying programs that is given great concerns. in addition, the admitting of civilian students in all field of study.

The university is scientific research and teaching in the fields of military sciences, humanitarian, technological sciences   corporation, and science relevant, hence the university dedicated in teaching and developing the curriculums in the frame of the state general objectives. Human resource continuous training has given special concern to serve the country and protect , secure and developing its natural resources , scientifically, intellectually , culturally and socially.

Karary University has many distinguished landmarks such as the College of Engineering and the College of Administrative Sciences, as well as the many green land escape and spaces in the university as well as the main library and mosques in all Collages of the university. Moreover, Collages of Engineering, Administrative Sciences and Languages ​​have been established in the famous Historical location of Karary in the modern history of Sudan. This represents an icon and conscience of Sudanese history.

1. BANAT Campus

It contains:

2. Khor Omar Campus

Khor Omar complex is located in Omdurman - Karary district and contains a centre for classrooms, playgrounds and spaces for civilian student’s activities of the colleges of engineering, computer science, administrative science and school of languages.

The complex also includes the administration of the Deanship of Student Affairs. The area of ​​Khor Omar complex is about 700000 square meters.

3. College of Engineering Campus

The College of Engineering Complex is located in Omdurman/ Karary district and contains the administration of the college of Engineering in addition to the classrooms, workshops and special laboratories of the college of Engineering with its different departments.

4. Military College Campus

The Military College Complex is located in the Omdurman and contains the Sudanese Military College.

5. College of Marine Studies Campus

The complex is located in Port Sudan city and contains the College of Maritime Studies and some of its affiliated centres.

6. College of Aviation Campus

This complex is also located in Port Sudan and includes the Aviation College and some of its affiliated centres.
